Seven NCCIA Officers Resign Over Alleged Corruption in Ducky Bhai Case

Major Shake-Up in Pakistan’s Cybercrime Agency

A major scandal has rocked Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) after seven senior officers resigned amid allegations of corruption linked to the case involving famous YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai.

According to reliable sources within the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the officers’ resignations were tendered following internal probes that uncovered serious irregularities, including accepting bribes, manipulating evidence, and attempting to obstruct justice in the Ducky Bhai case.

The Alleged Corruption Scandal

The controversy stems from the recent arrest of Ducky Bhai, which drew massive attention across social media platforms. After his detention, allegations surfaced that some NCCIA officials had accepted large sums of money in exchange for favourable treatment or the release of seized digital assets.

Investigators revealed that over $300,000 was allegedly transferred from Ducky Bhai’s account into one of the officers’ accounts and later divided among several staff members. This transaction reportedly triggered a deeper investigation by the FIA’s internal affairs and intelligence units.
The Officers Who Resigned

Among the seven officers who resigned are several high-ranking officials:

Assistant Director Chaudhry Sarfraz Ahmed

Director of Operations Muhammad Usman

Assistant Director Mujtaba Zafar

Deputy Director Zawar Ahmed

Sub-Inspectors Ali Raza and Yasir Ramzan

Investigator Imran Khalid

Reports indicate that some of these individuals went missing or became untraceable shortly after the corruption probe intensified, raising further suspicions about their involvement.
Complaint Filed by Ducky Bhai’s Wife

The scandal came to light after Aroob Jatoi, the wife of Ducky Bhai, filed a formal complaint with the FIA, accusing certain NCCIA officers of extortion, harassment, and bribery. Her complaint detailed how she and her husband were allegedly pressured for money in exchange for leniency and clearance of their digital equipment.

Her statement prompted the FIA to launch an official inquiry, which led to the arrest of multiple NCCIA officials and the recovery of a significant amount of cash, later confirmed to be approximately PKR 42.5 million.
Government and FIA Response

In response to the growing scandal, NCCIA’s newly appointed Director General Khurram Ali submitted a detailed report to the Ministry of Interior, recommending immediate suspension of the accused officers.

The Ministry has reportedly accepted the resignations and is expected to initiate formal disciplinary proceedings to prevent similar incidents in the future.

An FIA spokesperson confirmed that “no officer, regardless of rank, will be spared if found guilty of corruption or misuse of power.” The agency has vowed to restore public trust and ensure transparency in ongoing investigations.
Public Reaction and Social Media Uproar

The incident has caused a storm on social media, where Ducky Bhai’s followers have expressed anger and disbelief. Hashtags like #JusticeForDuckyBhai and #NCCIAcorruption have been trending on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

Many fans have applauded Ducky Bhai and his wife for standing up against corruption, while others demanded a complete overhaul of Pakistan’s cybercrime enforcement agencies.
Impact on NCCIA’s Reputation

The scandal has deeply affected the reputation of the NCCIA, which was established to tackle digital crimes and online harassment. Critics argue that this case exposes serious flaws in oversight and accountability within the institution.

Experts warn that if such incidents are not addressed firmly, public confidence in cyber law enforcement will continue to erode — especially at a time when digital fraud and cybercrimes are on the rise in Pakistan.
Legal Proceedings and Next Steps

The FIA has registered a criminal case against the accused officers, and their assets are reportedly being traced and frozen pending further investigation. Authorities are also exploring money laundering charges if foreign transfers are confirmed.

Meanwhile, Ducky Bhai’s legal team has called for complete transparency in the proceedings, demanding that all involved officials face justice in court.
Who Is Ducky Bhai?

Saad ur Rehman, known by his online alias Ducky Bhai, is one of Pakistan’s most popular YouTubers, boasting millions of followers across YouTube and Instagram. Famous for his comedic sketches, vlogs, and gaming content, Ducky Bhai has built a loyal fan base, especially among the country’s youth.

His arrest earlier this year shocked the online community, and the subsequent revelations about corruption within the NCCIA have only intensified public debate about abuse of power in law enforcement.
Broader Implications for Cybercrime Regulation

The scandal has reignited discussions about the need for stronger oversight and internal accountability within cybercrime agencies. Legal analysts suggest that Pakistan’s digital law enforcement bodies must adopt transparent systems to prevent corruption and improve professionalism.

Many are now calling for independent watchdogs to monitor FIA operations and for better training of officers to handle sensitive cases involving high-profile individuals.
